Vietnam has 'Aspiration' for Oscar

BEIJING - Luu Trong Ninh's "Thang Lengthy Aspiration" continues to be named as Vietnam's entry for that foreign-language Oscar.Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Huynh Vinh introduced the pic's selection online of Vietnam's ruling Communist Party.Pic is made to mark the 1,000 year anniversary from the Vietnamese capital Hanoi - Thang Lengthy may be the old reputation for Hanoi -- and concentrates on a war between siblings within the Le Empire within the ninth century.Idol judges around the selection council stated "Thang Lengthy Aspiration" met all of the criteria for that category, and stated the pic was "highly praised for humanity, creativeness, and particularly its representation from the national cultural identity."Helmer Luu Trong Ninh told VietNamNet he was happy but did not have high about making 5 runners up in the Academy awards."Thang Lengthy Aspiration" won out over"Floating Lives," an element modified in the questionable short novel by scribe Nguyen Ngoc Tu and "The Fate of the Songstress in Thang Lengthy", another historic film."Thang Lengthy Aspiration" won a silver prize for the best Film and 2 golden awards for the best Director and finest Supporting Actor at Vietnam's top honours, the Golden Kite, this past year.
